This is how slavery and racial discrimination has been historically justified by the Bible. According to the Bible, the black race has been associated by some with Ham, the son of Noah and the father of Canaan, who saw his father’s nakedness and told his two brothers. As a result, Noah cursed his offspring; he said :“Cursed be Canaan; a slave of slaves shall he be to his brothers.” (Genesis 9:25).
So the descendants of Ham, believed by some to be the ancestors of Africans, were destined for servitude and suffering. This interpretation has been used to justify slavery and discrimination, making later generations accountable for the actions of their ancestor.
In contrast, the Qur’an emphasizes the equality of all human beings, teaching that no one is better or superior over another except through piety and faith :
"O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allāh is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware." Quran (49: 13)
