If Adam’s punishments still remain, what value has the crucifixion?
Genesis says Adam and Eve’s sin resulted in specific punishments:
Eve: pain in childbirth and hardship in family life (Genesis 3:16)
Adam: exhausting labor, sweat, thorns, and struggle for food (Genesis 3:17–19)
Both: expulsion from Eden and eventual death “to dust you shall return” (Genesis 3:19, 23)
These exact consequences still affect all humans today:
Women still suffer pain in childbirth
Humans still labor and struggle to survive
The earth still resists cultivation
Everyone still dies
So the crucifixion did not remove the actual punishments Adam and Eve received.
If those punishments still exist, then what benefit did humanity gain from the crucifixion?
