Part One
Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the earth and heavens. He accepts repentance from
His servants and forgives sins. If anyone draws nearer to Him, Glorified be He, He will
bestow bounties upon him and protect him from destructive sins. I praise my Lord and
thank Him. I turn to Him in repentance and ask Him for forgiveness. I bear witness that
there is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partners, the Owner and the One Worthy of
Perfect Words, and the One Who answers prayers, and I bear witness that our prophet
and master, Muhammad, is His servant and Messenger, who was supported by miracles.
O Allah! Bestow Your peace, prayers, and blessings upon Your servant and messenger
Muhammad and upon his family and Companions, who were foremost in performing
righteous deeds and forbidding prohibited acts.
O Muslims!
Fear Allah, Exalted be He, and obey Him, for fear of Allah and obedience to Him
are the best of your deeds and the best of your provisions for the hereafter, by which
Allah will grant you His pleasure and protect you from His punishment.
Servants of Allah!
Turn to the acts that help you expiate your sins and efface your faults. If anyone
draws nearer to Allah, Allah will draw nearer to him. And if anyone turns away from
Allah, Allah will turn away from him; he will harm none but himself, and in no way will
he do the least harm to Allah. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “All
children of Adam sin, and the best of sinners are the repentant” (Reported by At-
Tirmidhi, as part of the hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with
him).
2
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, said, “By the One in Whose Hand my soul is, were you
not to commit sins, Allah would replace you with a people who would commit sins
and then seek forgiveness from Allah, Who would forgive them” (Reported by
Muslim). Allah created all children of Adam with such characteristics as to show
obedience or disobedience to Him, remain steadfast in their religion or turn away from it,
remember or forget, be fair or unfair. No one is infallible except the Prophets, peace and
blessings be upon them.
Out of His grace, Allah has created every new-born child to the pure, true nature
innate in all humans (fitrah), which is the religion of Islam. Whoever holds fast to this
true nature and believes in all that the prophets and messengers, peace and blessings be
upon them, were sent with will be guided to the right path, and Allah will accept his good
deeds and forgive his sins. Conversely, he whose true nature (fitrah) is corrupted by the
devils of mankind and jinns, by desires and lusts, or by innovations in religion and
polytheism will go astray, fail, and lose everything. None of his good deeds will be
accepted and none of his sins will be forgiven.
‘Iyadh ibn Himar, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “The Messenger of Allah,
peace and blessings be upon him, said in one of his khutbahs:
‘My Lord, Majesty and Glory be to Him, has commanded me to
teach you something you do not know, which He has taught me
today. (He has instructed thus): “All that I have conferred upon My
servants is lawful for them. I have created My servants to the true,
upright religion (i.e. Islam), but the devils have turned them away
from their religion, made unlawful what I have made lawful for them,
and commanded them to associate with Me that for which I have
not sent down any authority.’” (Reported by Muslim)
Therefore, if anyone alters the true nature to which Allah created him through disbelief in
Allah, and if he dies while he is a disbeliever without repentance, Allah will not accept
any of his good deeds and will not forgive any of his sins. Allah, Exalted be He, says:
Verily, those who disbelieve, and die while they are
disbelievers, it is they on whom is the Curse of Allah and of
the angels and of mankind, combined. They will abide
therein (under the curse in Hell), their punishment will
neither be lightened, nor will they be reprieved. (Al-
Baqarah: 161-162).
Allah, Exalted be He, also says:
3
Verily, those who disbelieved, and died while they were
disbelievers, the (whole) earth full of gold will not be
accepted from anyone of them even if they offered it as a
ransom. For them is a painful torment and they will have
no helpers. (Al ‘Imran: 91)
As for those who maintain the pure, true nature to which Allah created them and
follow the prophets, peace and blessings be upon them, the last of whom was
Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, Allah will accept their good deeds and
efface their evil deeds. Allah, Exalted be He, says:
... And whosoever believes in Allah and performs
righteous good deeds, He will expiate from him his sins,
and will admit him to Gardens under which rivers flow
(Paradise) to dwell therein forever; that will be the great
success. (At-Taghabun: 9)
A Muslim is thus overwhelmed by Allah’s mercy. Allah accepts his acts of obedience,
wipes away his wrong deeds through repentance and expiation, and admits him into His
Paradise in the hereafter.
There are many ways of expiating sins. The doors to good are open and the roads
to righteousness are paved for people. Blessed are those who follow them and do
righteous, good deeds. The first act for expiating sins is to believe in the Oneness of
Allah, Exalted be He, by worshipping none but the Lord, Might and Majesty be to Him,
and avoiding all types of polytheism or associating partners with Him. By doing that, the
servant will combine all good in this world and in the hereafter and will be protected
from all evil. ‘Ubadah ibn As-Samit, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the
Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said,
“If anyone bears witness that there is no god but Allah alone, Who
has no partners; that Muhammad is His servant and messenger;
that ‘Isa (Jesus) is Allah’s servant and messenger, His Word which
He bestowed to Maryam (Mary), and a spirit created by Him; and
that Paradise is true and Hell is true, Allah will admit him into
Paradise with the deeds he had done, no matter how few they
might be.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Abu Dharr Al-Ghifari, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the
Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Jibril (Angel Gabriel),
peace be upon him, said to me, ‘Give glad tidings to your ummah: Whoever dies
without associating any partners with Allah will enter Paradise” (Reported by Al-
Bukhari and Muslim). Umm Hani’, may Allah be pleased with her, narrated that the
4
Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Saying ‘La ilaha illa Allah
(There is no god but Allah)’ wipes away all sins, and there is no other deed that
comes close to it” (Reported by Al-Hakim).
Among the acts of expiating sins is to turn in repentance to Allah, Exalted be He,
for Allah accepts the repentance of whoever repents of any sin he has committed. Abu
Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace
and blessings be upon him, said, “If anyone repents before the sun rises in the west
[which is one of the signs of the Last Hour], Allah will accept his repentance”
(Reported by Muslim). Allah is delighted with the repentance of His servant and He gives
him a great reward because of it. Allah, Exalted be He, says:
And He it is Who accepts repentance from His slaves, and
forgives sins, and He knows what you do. (Ash-Shura: 25)
Performing ablution (wudu’) faithfully and perfectly, following the way the
Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, performed it, is among the acts of expiating
sins. Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and
blessings be upon him, said:
“When a Muslim (or he said ‘a believer’), washes his face (while
performing ablution (wudu’)), every sin which he has committed
with his eyes will be washed away from his face along with water,
or with the last drop of water; when he washes his hands, every sin
which his hands have committed will be washed away from them
with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes
his feet, every sin towards which his feet have walked will be
washed away with the water, or with the last drop of water, until he
finally emerges cleansed of all his sins.” (Reported by Muslim and At-
Tirmidhi)
Prayer is one of the greatest acts of expiating sins. Uthman ibn ‘Affan, may Allah
be pleased with him, said, “I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon
him, say, ‘No man performs ablution (wudu’) perfectly and then offers prayer but
Allah will forgive him any sins he commits between that prayer and the next
prayer’” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased
with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The five
daily prayers, the Friday prayer to the Friday prayer, and Ramadan to Ramadan
expiate whatever sins may be committed in between, so long as major sins are
avoided” (Reported by Muslim and At-Tirmidhi).
It is narrated that Uthman ibn ‘Affan, may Allah be pleased with him, performed
ablution (wadhu’) and then said, “I saw the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be
5
upon him, perform ablution similar to the ablution I have done and then he said,
“Whoever performs ablution like this ablution of mine and then offers two rak‘ahs
of prayer without allowing his thoughts to be distracted will be forgiven his
previous sins” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
Ibn Mas‘ud, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that a man kissed a woman.
So he came to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and informed him about it.
Then Allah revealed this verse of the Qur’an:
And perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), at the two ends
of the day and in some hours of the night [i.e. the five
compulsory Salat (prayers)]. Verily, the good deeds
remove the evil deeds (i.e. small sins). That is a reminder
(an advice) for the mindful (those who accept advice).
(Hud: 114)
The man then asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! Is this only for me? He answered, “It is for
everyone in my Ummah who acts upon this verse” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and
Muslim).
Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, said, “Allah has an angel who calls out at the time of
each prayer, ‘O Children of Adam! Rise up to the fire that you have set your souls
at and put it out [by prayer]’” (Reported by At-Tabarani). Abdullah ibn Mas‘ud, may
Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
said: “Perform hajj and ‘umrah one after the other, for they remove sins just as the
bellows remove filth from iron.”
Asking forgiveness of Allah, Exalted be He, is also a means of expiating sins.
Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and
blessings be upon him, said:
“A servant of Allah once committed a sin and said, ‘O Allah! Forgive
me my sin.’ So Allah, Exalted be He, said, ‘My servant has
committed a sin and he knows that he has a Lord Who forgives sins
and punishes for sins.’ He then again committed another sin and
said, ‘My Lord! Forgive me my sin.’ So Allah, Exalted be He, said,
‘My servant has committed a sin and he knows that he has a Lord
Who forgives sins and punishes for sins.’ He again committed a sin
and said: ‘My Lord! Forgive me my sin.’ Allah, Exalted be He, said,
‘My servant has committed a sin and he knows that he has a Lord
Who forgives sins and punishes for sins. Do whatever you like for I
6
have granted forgiveness to you.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and
Muslim)
Anas ibn Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, said that the Prophet, peace and
blessings be upon him, said, “Whoever says, ‘I ask forgiveness of Allah, the One
other than Whom there is no god, and I turn to Him in repentance’ three times on
Friday before the Dawn Prayer will be forgiven his sins even if they were more
than the foam of the sea” (Reported by At-Tabarani). Bilal ibn Yasar ibn Zaid said,
“My father narrated to me, on the authority of my grandfather, that he heard the
Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, ‘Whoever says three times,
“I ask forgiveness of Allah, the One other than Whom there is no god, the Ever-
Living, the Self-Subsisting, and I turn to Him in repentance” will be forgiven his
sins, even if he fled from the battlefield’” (Reported by Abu-Dawud, and At-Tirmidhi).
When a Muslim asks forgiveness of Allah for his Muslim brother in his absence,
his prayer will be immediately granted, both to the supplicant and to the one for whom he
supplicated Allah. For when a Muslim prays for his Muslim brother in his absence, an
angel says, “Amen! May it be for you, too.”
Abu Sa‘id Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, said, “I heard the
Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, say, ‘Iblis (Satan) said to his
Lord, ‘By Your Might and Majesty, I shall keep on tempting the children of Adam
as long as they are still alive.’ Then Allah, Exalted be He, said, ‘By My Might and
Majesty, I shall keep forgiving them as long as they ask Me for forgiveness.’”
(Reported by Ahmad, Abu Ya‘la Al-Mawsili, and Al-Hakim. Al-Hakim said its chain of
transmission is authenticated).
Among the means of expiating sins are the various words of remembrance of
Allah, Exalted be He, namely, Subahan-allah (Glorified be Allah), Al-hamdu lillah
(Praise be to Allah), La ilaha illa-llah (There is no god but Allah), Allahu akbar (Allah is
the Greatest), and La hawla wa la quwwata illa billahil-‘aliyyil-‘azhim’ (There is no
power and no might except by Allah, the Most High, the Most Great). Abu Hurairah, may
Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him,
said, “Whoever says, ‘Subhana-llahi wa bihamdih’ (Glorified be Allah and Praise
be to Him) one hundred times will be forgiven his sins even if they were as big as
the foam of the sea” (Reported by Muslim).
Charity is also one of the means of expiating sins. Mu‘adh ibn Jabal, may Allah
be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon
him, said, “Charity extinguishes sins just as water extinguishes fire” (Reported by
At-Tirmidhi).
7
Another way of expiating sins is to show kindness to one’s family, especially
daughters. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The best among you is
the best to his family, and I am the best of you to my family” (Reported by At-
Tirmidhi, as part of the hadith narrated by A’ishah). A’ishah, may Allah be pleased with
her and her father, narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon
him, said, “If anyone bears the responsibility of bringing up daughters and he
treats them kindly, they will be a shield for him against Hellfire” (Reported by Al-
Bukhari and Muslim). The same applies to one’s sisters. Showing kindness to people is
an act by virtue of which Allah increases our rewards and keeps evils away from us.
Among the ways of expiating sins is to increase good deeds after committing bad
deeds and to have good manners. Mu‘adh ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him,
narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Fear Allah
wherever you are, follow up a bad deed with a good deed and it will wipe it out,
and deal with people in good manners” (Reported by At-Tirmidhi).
Therefore, fellow Muslims, hasten to do good deeds whenever you can. Never
disparage any good deed, no matter how small it may be, for this small good deed may be
the cause of your eternal happiness. It was reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim, as part of
a hadith narrated by Abu-Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that the Messenger of
Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “While a man was walking along the
road, he saw a thorny branch lying on the road and he removed it, so Allah
appreciated that deed of his and forgave him.” Abu-Hurairah, may Allah be pleased
with him, also narrated that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him,
said:
“A man was walking on a road when he became very thirsty. He
found a well, went into it and drank. When he came out, he found a
dog panting and eating earth out of extreme thirst. The man thought
to himself, ‘This dog is as thirsty as I was.’ So he went down into
the well, filled up his shoe with water, and holding it in his teeth,
climbed up and quenched the thirst of the dog. Allah appreciated
his action and forgave him.” The Prophet’s Companions then
asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! Shall we be rewarded for showing
kindness to animals as well?” He said, “There is a reward for
helping every living creature.” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Another way of expiating sins is to ask Allah to bestow His peace and blessings
upon the master of mankind, Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him. Anas ibn
Malik, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Prophet, peace and blessings be
upon him, said, “If a person asks Allah to send blessings upon me once, Allah will
send blessings upon him ten times over, forgive ten of his sins, and raise him ten
8
degrees (in Paradise)” (Reported by Ahmad, An-Nasa’i, by Hibban, and Al-Hakim.
Al-Hakim said it has an authenticated chain of transmission).
The afflictions that befall a Muslim also serve as expiation for his sins if he has
patience, hopes for Allah’s reward, and does not show discontent over such afflictions.
Abu Sa‘id Al-Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, narrated that the Messenger of
Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “No illness, fatigue, grief, distress, or
sadness befalls a believer, even if it is the prick of a thorn, but Allah effaces
some of his sins because of it” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). Allah, Exalted
be He, says:
O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance!
It may be that your Lord will expiate from you your sins,
and admit you into Gardens under which rivers flow
(Paradise) – the Day that Allah will not disgrace the
Prophet (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him)
and those who believe with him. Their Light will run
forward before them and with (their Records – Books of
deeds) in their right hands. They will say: “Our Lord! Keep
perfect our Light for us [and do not put it off till we cross
over the Sirat (a slippery bridge over the Hell) safely] and
grant us forgiveness. Verily, You are Able to do all
things.” (At-Tahrim: 8)
May Allah bless you and me with the Great Qur’an and make us benefit from its
verses and wise words and benefit from the guidance and right sayings of the Imam of all
Messengers. I have said what you have heard and I ask forgiveness of Allah, the Most
Great, the Sublime, for myself, for you, and for all Muslims. Ask Allah for forgiveness.
He is the Oft-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
9
Part Two
Praise be to Allah, the Owner of Majesty and Honour, Whose dominion is
unequalled. I praise my Lord and thank Him. I turn to Him in repentance and ask Him for
forgiveness. I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, Who has no partners, the
King, the Holy, the One Free from all defects; and I bear witness that our prophet and
master, Muhammad, is His servant and messenger, the caller to Paradise, the Home of
Peace. O Allah! Bestow Your peace and blessings upon Your servant and messenger
Muhammad and upon his family and honourable Companions.
O Muslims!
Fear Allah as He should be feared, and grasp the trustworthy handhold of Islam.
Servants of Allah!
Just as there are many ways of expiating sins, there are also enormous dangers
that threaten the Muslim. Sins should not be taken lightly, be they minor or major, for
Allah will hold people accountable for their sins and will have them recorded in their
book of deeds. A Muslim should always hold a position between fear of Allah and hope
for His mercy, for feeling secure from the Plan of Allah is a sign of utter loss and misery.
Allah, Exalted be He, says:
... None feels secure from the Plan of Allah except the
people who are the losers. (Al-A‘raf: 99)
On the other hand, despair of Allah’s mercy is a sign of manifest error. Allah, Exalted be
He, says:
Know that Allah is Severe in punishment and that Allah is
Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (Al-Ma’idah: 98)
A sin that may seem trivial to you can make you live in eternal misery. Abdullah
ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, narrated that the Prophet, peace
and blessings be upon him, said, “A woman was doomed to Hellfire because of a cat
which she had tied till it died of hunger; she neither fed it, nor did she set it free to
feed on the vermin of the earth” (Reported by Al-Bukhari and Muslim).
Abdullah ibn Amr ibn Al-‘As, may Allah be pleased with him and his father, said,
“There was a man called Kirkirah who looked after the luggage of the Prophet,
peace and blessings be upon him. [When the man died], the Prophet, peace and
blessings be upon him, said, “He is in Hellfire.” The people then went to see what
10
he had done, and they found a cloak that he had taken secretly” (Reported by Al-
Bukhari). During the Battle of Khaibar, a party of the Prophet’s Companions passed by a
man [who had been killed in the battle] and said, “So-and-so is a martyr.” The Prophet,
peace and blessings be upon him, said to them, “No. I have seen him in Hellfire for a
mantle (or a cloak) that he had taken secretly” (Reported by Muslim, as part of the
hadith narrated by Umar ibn Al-Khattab, may Allah be pleased with him).
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “A man may utter a word
which pleases Allah without realizing the full extent of its virtue, and because of
it, Allah raises him high in degree. And a man may utter a word that causes the
displeasure of Allah to which he attaches no importance, and because if it, he
falls down in Hellfire far deeper than the distance between the East and the
West.”
The most dangerous thing for man is to perpetrate acts of injustice and oppression
against people and deny them their rights. The worst thing man can ever do is to withhold
good from people and harm them by evil deeds.
Servants of Allah!
Allah sends His Salat (Graces, Honours, Blessings, Mercy) on the
Prophet (Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him)) and also
His angels (ask Allah to bless and forgive him). O you who believe!
Send your Salat on (ask Allah to bless) him (Muhammad (peace
and blessings be upon him)), and (you should) greet (salute) him
with the Islamic way of greeting (salutation, i.e. As-Salamu
‘Alaikum). (Al-Ahzab: 56)
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “If a person asks Allah to
send blessings upon me once, Allah will send blessings upon him ten times
over.”
Therefore, ask Allah to bestow His peace and blessings on the master of those
who preceded us and those who are yet to come and the Imam of Messengers. O Allah!
Bestow Your peace upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, as You bestowed
Your peace upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim; You are All-Praiseworthy, All-
Glorious. O Allah! Bestow Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of
Muhammad, as You bestowed Your blessings upon Ibrahim and the family of Ibrahim;
You are All-Praiseworthy, All-Glorious. O Allah! Bestow Your bountiful peace and
blessings upon Muhammad and his family.
O Allah! Be pleased with all the Companions. O Allah! Be pleased with all the
Companions. O Allah! Be pleased with the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, Abu Bakr, Umar,
Uthman, and Ali, along with all the Companions of Your Prophet, their contemporaries
11
who followed them without seeing the Prophet, peace and blessing be upon him
(Tabi‘un), and those who follow them in righteousness until the Day of Judgment. O
Allah! Be pleased with us together with them, by Your grace, generosity, and mercy, O
Most Merciful of all the merciful!
O Allah! Grant power and glory to Islam and Muslims. O Allah! Grant power and
glory to Islam and Muslims, subdue disbelief and the disbelievers, O Lord of the Worlds!

of Muslims, reconcile them, guide them to the ways of peace, and bring them out of
darkness into light.

unclothed among them. O Allah! Dispel their fears and conceal their weaknesses. O
Allah! Safeguard our religion and our honour and the religion and honour of all Muslims,
O Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Safeguard the religion, honour, and property of all
Muslims.
O Allah! O Owner of Majesty and Honour! Do not leave us to ourselves and do
not leave Muslims to themselves for the blink of an eye, O Lord of the Worlds!
O Allah! Take revenge for Muslims upon those who have oppressed them, those
who have wronged them, those who have harmed them, and those who have tyrannized
them, O Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Take revenge for Muslims upon those who have
oppressed them. O Allah! Let evil turn back against those who have oppressed them, O
Lord of the Worlds!
O Allah! Foil the plots of the enemies of Islam. O Allah! Foil the plots of the
enemies of Islam. O Allah! Thwart the plans of the enemies of Islam with which they
intend harm against Islam, O Lord of the Worlds! You are Powerful over all things!
O Allah! Safeguard the sanctity of Muslims and their sacred places and things, O
Lord of the World!
O Allah! Save us from rise in prices, plagues, usury, adultery, fornication,
earthquakes, trials, and evil tribulations, apparent and hidden.
O Allah! Forgive the sins of our dead and the sins of all dead Muslims. O Allah!
Forgive the sins of our dead and the sins of all dead Muslims. O Allah! Help the debtors
pay their debts and cure the sick among us. O Allah! Cure the sick among us and the sick
among all Muslims. O Allah! Cure the sick among us and the sick among all Muslims, O
Lord of the Worlds!
12
O Allah! We ask You, O Owner of Majesty and Honour, to protect us from the
evil within ourselves and from our wrong deeds. O Allah! Protect us from the evil of all
evil-doers, O Most Strong! O All-Mighty!
O Allah! Protect us and our offspring from Satan, his offspring, his devils, and his
soldiers, O Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! Protect Muslims from Satan, the outcast, and
his offspring. You are Powerful over all things.
O Allah! Protect us and protect our offspring from sorcerers. O Allah! Protect
Muslims from sorcerers. O Allah! Foil their plots and let their intrigues turn back against
them, O Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! They have caused mischief in the land and
tyrannized and oppressed people. They are the soldiers of Satan. O Allah! Take revenge
upon them, for they are not beyond Your Power. O Allah! Foil their plots and protect us
and all Muslims from their evil, O Lord of the Worlds!
O Allah! We ask You to guide us to what You love and accept.
O Allah! Protect our country from all that is evil and reprehensible. O Allah!
Protect our country from all that is evil and reprehensible. O Allah! Protect our country
from all that is evil and reprehensible, O Lord of the Worlds!
O Allah! Guide the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to what You love and
accept. O Allah! Lead him to Your guidance, make all his deeds pleasing to You. O
Allah! Guide his two Deputies to what You love and accept, O Lord of the Worlds! O
Allah! Guide them to all that is good for Islam and Muslims. You are Powerful over all
things.
O Allah! We ask You to forgive our sins! O Allah! Do away with our wrong
deeds and forgive us our sins.
... Our Lord! Give us that which is good in this world and
that which is good in the Hereafter, and save us from the
torment of Hellfire! (Al-Baqarah: 201)
O Allah! We seek refuge in You from ill fate, from hard affliction, and from
abject misery, O Lord of the Worlds! O Allah! We seek refuge in You from the malicious
rejoicing of Your slaves.
... Our Lord! Give us that which is good in this world and
that which is good in the Hereafter, and save us from the
torment of Hellfire! (Al-Baqarah: 201)
Servants of Allah!
13
Verily, Allah enjoins Al-Adl (i.e. justice and worshipping
none but Allah Alone - Islamic Monotheism) and Al-Ihsan
[i.e. to be patient in performing your duties to Allah,
totally for Allah’s sake and in accordance with the Sunnah
(legal ways) of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon
him) in a perfect manner], and giving (help) to kith and
kin (i.e. all that Allah has ordered you to give them, e.g.,
wealth, visiting, looking after them, or any other kind of
help, etc.): and forbids Al-Fahsha’ (i.e. all evil deeds, e.g.
illegal sexual acts, disobedience of parents, polytheism, to
tell lies, to give false witness, to kill a life without right,
etc.), and Al-Munkar (i.e. all that is prohibited by Islamic
law: polytheism of every kind, disbelief and every kind of
evil deeds, etc.), and Al-Baghy (i.e. all kinds of
oppression), He admonishes you, that you may take
heed.) And fulfil the Covenant of Allah (Bai’a: pledge for
Islam) when you have covenanted, and break not the
oaths after you have confirmed them, and indeed you have
appointed Allah your surety. Verily! Allah knows what you
do. (An-Nahl: 90-91)
Remember Allah, the Most Great, the Sublime, and He will remember you. Thank
Him for His blessings and favours and He will give you more. Verily, remembrance of
Allah is greater than all, and Allah knows what you do.
