In Human Life
I tried to make a comparison between my relationship with my mother, as the most noble and sincere relationship with a creature, and my relationship with my Creator, the Guardian (Al-Walee). Both of them take care of me, even in a very different way. But in fact, my mother’s grant is limited.
When she finds me sick, she tries her best to help me. However, she can’t treat me. In addition, sometimes I can’t express my suffering, so she can’t understand me. adding to that, for sure one day she will die. In contrast, when I pray to Allah to tell Him about my suffering, I am certain that He knows everything the best. When I complain to Him, I know that He is able to do everything. He is the Ever-living. That’s why He is worthy of trust and faith.
When I face a problem in my life, it turns to be a chance to come close to Allah (the one true God). We can’t live without Allah. This life is too hard to live without a super power.
Allah says in His book:
Have they not traveled through the land and seen how was the end of those before them? Allah destroyed [everything] over them, and for the disbelievers is something comparable. That is because Allah is the protector of those who have believed and because the disbelievers have no protector.” [Qur’an 47/10-11] (1)
Meaning of The Protector or The Guardian (Al-Walee)
The essence of ‘Al-Walee’ in Arabic comes from the closeness. It means the one who is in charge of and responsible for you, according to Al-Khattaby.
Kinds of Protection
There are two kinds of protection; a general one and a special one. The general one is for every creature, even the disbelievers. Allah delivers them his provision. The special one is for the closest believers to Allah. It means love, support and facilitation of matters.
Allah says in His book:
Allah is the ally of those who believe. He brings them out from darknesses into the light. And those who disbelieve – their allies are Taghut ( everything worshipped except Allah). They take them out of the light into darknesses. Those are the companions of the Fire; they will abide eternally therein. ” [Qur’an 2/257] (2)
Application
Protect to be protected. Help people to be helped. Satisfaction and inner peace are worthy to sacrifice for.
