The Quran is the word of Allah ﷻ so its recitation must be taken very seriously. From that comes the importance of learning Tajweed rules. Learning Tajweed rules makes the reciter observe the correct pronunciation of every letter with the rulings and characteristics which apply to it, and thus enable the reciter to recite Quran proficiently in the same manner Prophet Muhammad ﷺ recited it, as received from angel Jibreel, who received it from Almighty Allah ﷻ in a clear Arabic tongue. The idea of writing this book came from my extensive experience as a Tajweed instructor. By the support of Allah ﷻ I was able to develop effective techniques for teaching Tajweed rules which when put into practice have proven to suit learners of various levels, from beginners to advanced. Simple language is used in this book for explanation. Colored visual aids such as illustrations, charts, tables and mind maps are used for further information. Such visual aids help the learner to retain information better. It stimulates the memory making it easier for the learner to recall the rules when it comes to reciting. The book comes in three parts: The first part is reserved exclusively for: The articulation points and the characteristics of the letters, the second part presents rules for saakin (letters with no vowels) i.e.; Noon sakinah, Meem sakinah, Laam sakinah and mudood (lengthening). The third part is dedicated to the advanced learners who have already completed the first two parts. We ask Allah to benefit us from that which He taught us, and teach us that which will benefit us, and increase us in knowledge.
