Is it true that Christians worship God, may He be glorified and exalted, as the prophets worshiped God, or are they misguided?

Islam is not a new religion because "submission to the will of God," i.e., Islam, has always been the only religion acceptable in the sight of God.

The most important message conveyed by all the prophets to their people was to worship God alone and follow His teachings.

All the prophets, including Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Ishmael, Jacob, Moses, Aaron, David, Solomon, Jesus, Muhammad, and others, as well as those we do not know, called people to worship God.

The previous prophets and their followers prostrated in prayer, bowing their faces to the ground:

- Abraham (peace be upon him) prostrated in prayer, bowing his face to the ground: (Genesis 17:3), (Genesis 17:17).

- Moses and Aaron (peace be upon them) prostrated in prayer, bowing their faces to the ground: (Exodus 34:8).

- In general, Jews do not pray in the same way as the prophets Abraham, Moses, and Aaron did.

- Jews usually cover their heads during prayer as a sign of piety and respect before God. Some Jews cover their heads at all times, but this is a matter of tradition and custom, not a teaching from God.

- Jews innovate new methods of prayer periodically, so you will find that each sect currently differs from the others in prayer. Some even pray on chairs without prostrating or bowing. There is no explicit biblical text commanding Jews to do so.

- In Christianity, there is no prayer prescribed by God. All the prayers recited in churches are human-made and teachings without basis from God.

- The Bible does not say anywhere that you must make the sign of the cross.

- Christ did not make the sign of the cross, and the Bible does not mention that the early disciples made any signs with their hands when they prayed.

- Jesus (peace be upon him) never called people to worship him instead of God, or as God, or as the Son of God.

- Jesus never commanded his disciples to worship himself or the Holy Spirit.

- Jesus recognized the one true God and prayed to God and worshiped Him:

John 17:3: "Now this is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."

- Jesus prayed to God, prostrated in prayer, bowing his face to the ground, and prayed to Almighty God: (Matthew 26:39), (Mark 14:35).

- The disciples of Jesus (peace be upon him) did the same, prostrating in prayer, bowing their faces to the ground: (Matthew 17:6).

- Muslims pray in obedience to God because they believe that God created humans for no other purpose than to worship Him.

- God, may He be glorified and exalted, said:

{  56) And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. } (Quran 51:56)

In prostration, when the forehead touches the ground, the believer is closest to God than at any other time. There is now an opportunity to supplicate, seek help, mercy, or forgiveness from God.

- Muslims prostrate in prayer, bowing with their faces touching the ground during their daily prayers, in compliance with and obedience to God's command.

- God, may He be glorified and exalted, said in the Quran:

{ 77) O you who have believed, bow and prostrate and worship your Lord and do good- that you may succeed.  } (Quran 22:77)

Dios Todopoderoso dijo  :

6) O you who have believed, when you rise to [perform] prayer, wash your faces and your forearms to the elbows and wipe over your heads and wash your feet to the ankles.  And if you are in a state of janabah, then purify yourselves.  But if you are ill or on a journey or one of you comes from the place of relieving himself or you have contacted women and do not find water, then seek clean earth and wipe over your faces and hands with it.  Allah does not intend to make difficulty for you, but He intends to purify you and complete His favor upon you that you may be grateful. 7) And remember the favor of Allah upon you and His covenant with which He bound you when you said, "We hear and we obey;' and fear Allah.  Indeed, Allah is Knowing of that within the breasts.

The Holy Quran (5-6:7)

- God, may He be glorified, is the Supreme Creator who created us and brought us into existence from nothingness. He alone deserves to be worshiped in the manner He has prescribed for us, not according to our desires or innovations.

- The subject of worshiping God as He has commanded, not as we wish, is a fundamental topic in Islamic creed.

- Worship in Islam has its foundations and regulations as outlined in the Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet, and it is not permissible for humans to innovate in religion what God has not authorized.

# Evidence from the Quran:

1. God says:

{ 21) Or have they partners [i.e., other deities] who have ordained for them a religion to which Allah has not consented? But if not for the decisive word , it would have been concluded between them. And indeed, the wrongdoers will have a painful punishment. 22 You will see the wrongdoers fearful of what they have earned, and it will [certainly] befall them. And those who have believed and done righteous deeds will be in lush regions of the gardens [in Paradise] having whatever they will in the presence of their Lord. That is what is the great bounty.  } (Quran 42:21)

In this verse, God clarifies that legislation in religion is His right alone, and it is not permissible for anyone to legislate in religion what God has not authorized. This includes acts of worship; humans must not worship God except in the manner He has prescribed.

2. God, may He be glorified and exalted, said:

{ 5 ) And they were not commanded except to worship Allah [being] sincere to Him in religion, inclining to truth, and to establish prayer and to give zakkah.  And that is the correct religion. } (Quran 98:5)

This verse indicates that worship must be purely for God and according to His commands, not according to personal desires.

3. God, may He be glorified and exalted, said:

{  3) Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies.  Little do you remember. } (Quran 7:3)

Here, God commands following what has been revealed to His Messenger and prohibits following any legislation or worship not brought by revelation.

4. God, may He be glorified and exalted, says:

{ 50 ) But if they do not respond to you—then know that they only follow their [own] desires. And who is more astray than one who follows his desire without guidance from Allah? Indeed, Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people. } (Quran 28:50)

This verse warns against following desires in religion, as following desires without guidance from God leads to deviation.

5. God says:

{   31) Say,[O Muhammad],"If you should love Allah, then follow me, [so] Allah will love you and forgive you your sins.  And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful." 32) Say, "Obey Allah and the Messenger."  But if they turn away – then indeed, Allah does not like the disbelievers. } (Quran 3:31-32)

In this verse, God clarifies that His love is achieved by following His Messenger, and following the Messenger means adhering to the legislation and acts of worship he brought.

# Worship as God Wills:

Worship in Islam is not merely an internal feeling or personal desire; it is obedience to God as He has legislated.

For example, prayer has its specified times, movements, and words; fasting has its conditions and rulings; and Hajj has its known rituals. It is not permissible for humans to change these acts of worship or to innovate in them what has not been brought by the Sharia.

# Conclusion:

Worship is the right of God, and He is the one who determines how we worship Him. It is not permissible for us to worship God except in the manner He has prescribed for us in His Book and on the tongue of His Messenger (peace be upon him).

Any innovation in religion or alteration in acts of worship is considered a deviation from the straight path. Therefore, it is obligatory for a Muslim to adhere to what is in the Quran and the Sunnah and to submit his desires to what has been revealed.
