Are You Online?

(With The One You Love!)

Part One

Have you thought about this? …

How much time do we usually spend everyday on our smart phones?

How about the considerable amount of time that some people take for leisure

and entertainment using PCs, watching TV, films, sports, and clips, listening to

music and radio, surfing the Internet, or using the other many electronic

devices, platforms, social media, applications, or Play Station games?

How about those who spend a great deal of time on practicing sports and

hobbies, working on their physical fitness, reading books, novels, newspapers,

and magazines for many hours?

In comparison, what is the amount of time that we spend in connection ‘online’

with and for our Creator, Allah (God) the Almighty (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala –

briefly SWT)?

In deed, Islam teaches us to be considerate, moderate, and balanced in how we

manage our lives and our time.

Interestingly, Islam instructs us to pay attention to three main responsibilities

and duties (rights):

1- Our duty and responsibility towards Allah, our Creator?

2- Our duty and responsibility towards ourselves.

3- Our duty and responsibility towards others.

Concerning our duty and responsibility towards Allah (SWT), let us ask

ourselves (each one of us should sincerely ask these questions):

• How is my relationship with my Creator, Allah the Almighty?

• Do I truly and practically love my God,

• Do I worship him and pray to Him as He loves and as Prophet

Muhammad ( صلى الله عليه وسلم) told us?

• How much time do I spend daily for Him?

• Do I remember Him and supplicate to Him frequently?

• Am I punctual on reading (reciting) His book, the Glorious Qur’an (at

least a page a day)?

• Am I trying my best to do what pleases Allah, Who created me and

granted me endless favours, bounties, and blessings?

To sum up, Allah wants us to go back to Him and get connected with Him

through …

- Worshipping Him solely,

- Praying to Him regularly,

- Remembering Him constantly,

- Reading the Qur’an continuously,

- Supplicating (making du’a) to Him faithfully,

- Doing good deeds and inviting others to do good nicely,

- Repenting to Him and seeking His forgiveness earnestly.

Then Allah will be pleased with us and grant us contentment and peace of mind

in this life and eternal happiness and Paradise (Jannah) in the Hereafter.
