The Muslim Society Sharia Law Hasnaa Heikal
Islam isn’t only a belief in the true and the only God, but also deeds according this belief. It is the practical religion, the way for life. Islam fulfills all aspects of personal life.
And I will share some views of the Islamic society with you here. Where Many verses in the Qur’an mentions the belief accompanied by righteous deeds. We as Muslims should translate the belief into righteous deeds.
Some of these verses are:
And give good tidings to those who believe and do righteous deeds that they will have gardens [in Paradise] beneath which rivers flow.” Qur’an(2:25)
But as for those who believed and did righteous deeds, He will give them in full their rewards, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.” Qur’an(3:57)
Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds [that] for them there is forgiveness and great reward.” Qur’an(5:9)
Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds – the Most Merciful will appoint for them affection.” Qur’an(19:96)
Or do those who commit evils think We will make them like those who have believed and done righteous deeds – [make them] equal in their life and their death? Evil is that which they judge.” Qur’an(45:21)
So what are the examples of such righteous deeds the Qur’an calls for?
In the aspect of the family (the parents, the children, the spouses and the relatives):
Islam encourages Muslims to honor their parents.
“And your Lord has decreed that you not worship except Him, and to parents, good treatment. Whether one or both of them reach old age [while] with you, say not to them [so much as], “Uff”, and do not repel them but speak to them a noble word.” Qur’an(17:23)
Islam prevents parents from killing their children for fear of poverty, and from burying of female babies for fear of shame as it was spread in the time of ignorance (before Islam).
“And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked. For what sin she was killed.” Qur’an(81:8-9)
“And do not kill your children out of poverty; We will provide for you and them.” Qur’an(6:151)
Islam appreciates the relations between spouses and encourages them to treat each other mercifully.
And of His signs is that He created for you from yourselves mates that you may find tranquility in them; and He placed between you affection and mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought.” Qur’an(30:21)
Islam enjoins justice, generosity and kind treatment with relatives.
“And give the relative his right.” Qur’an(17:26)
In the aspect of the weak (Orphans, poor and needy):
Muslims are ordered to offer charity to poor and needy people.
“Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, and to parents do good, and to relatives, orphans, the needy, the near neighbor, the neighbor farther away, the companion at your side, the traveler, and those whom your right hands possess. Indeed, Allah does not like those who are self-deluding and boastful.” Qur’an(4:36)
“And those within whose wealth is a known right for the petitioner and the deprived.” Qur’an(70:24-25)
Neighbours rights in Islam:
The messenger of Allah said: “Gabriel kept on recommending me about treating the neighbors in a kind and polite manner, so much so that I thought that he would order (me) to make them (my) heirs.” [Al Bukhari]
In General we should love each other and wish the happiness for each other.
The messenger of Allah also said “No one of you shall become a true believer until he desires for his brother what he desires for himself.” [Al Bukhari and Muslim]
How should Muslims deal with non-Muslims?
Before we know how we should treat non-Muslims, we should differentiate between 3 categories:
First: Non-Muslims who don’t harm Muslims, we should treat them justly.
“Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes – from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them. Indeed, Allah loves those who act justly.” Qur’an(60:8)
“And do not obey the disbelievers and the hypocrites but do not harm them, and rely upon Allah. And sufficient is Allah as Disposer of affairs.” Qur’an(33:48)
Second: Non-Muslims who abuse Muslims, we should be patient over their abuse.
“So be patient over what they say.” Qur’an(20:130)
“And not equal are the good deed and the bad. Repel [evil] by that [deed] which is better; and thereupon the one whom between you and him is enmity [will become] as though he was a devoted friend.” Qur’an(41:34)
Third: Non-Muslims who fight Muslims, we should defend ourselves and fight them till they cease their aggression.
Fight in the way of Allah those who fight you but do not transgress. Indeed, Allah does not like transgressors. And kill them wherever you overtake them and expel them from wherever they have expelled you, and fitnah is worse than killing. And do not fight them at al-Masjid al-Haram until they fight you there. But if they fight you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers. And if they cease, then indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.” Qur’an(2:190-192)
And if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also] and rely upon Allah. Indeed, it is He who is the Hearing, the Knowing.” Qur’an(8:61)
To conclude:
The religion of Islam is a fair system for all mankind, it organizes their lives and helps them live in inner peace.
Islam is a just way for yourself and for the others.
