TRICKS OF THE SHAYTAAN

➖➖➖

FAKE MODESTY

➖➖➖

"Sister, you should strive to wear the proper hijaab."

"No need, Allaah sees my heart and my heart is pure, pure as snow."

_ _

Do you neglect the commands of your Lord, because  "your heart is pure?"

_ _

By Allah, if your heart were truly pure, then you would have obeyed!

➖➖➖

DO NOT CLAIM PURITY FOR YOURSELF

➖➖➖

فَلَا تُزَكُّوٓا۟ أَنفُسَكُمْ ۖ هُوَ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنِ ٱتَّقَىٰٓ

So do not claim yourselves to be pure; He is most knowing of who fears Him.

(An Najm 53:32)

The heart can never be pure whilst the body is corrupt; the utterances and actions are haraam.

The only thing that follows a pure heart is purity in every other aspect.

This doesn't mean perfect and free of mistakes, No.

Rather it means that you strive to attain that perfection at all times through sincerity and hastening to all that Allaah (ﷻ) has commanded you, and abstaining from all that he has prohibited.

Narrated An-Nu'man bin Bashir:

I heard Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) saying: "Beware! There is a piece of flesh in the body if it becomes good (reformed) the whole body becomes good but if it gets spoilt the whole body gets spoilt and that is the heart."

(Sahih al-Bukhari 52)

_ _

Indeed, it is possible to display purity on the outside, whilst the heart is corrupt.

But never!

Never could a heart possibly be pure whilst the body is impure.

Do not be deceived, this is from the tricks of the Shaytaan. He wants that you claim purity to yourself, whilst overlooking your sins.

_ _

Such that one says, "I love Allaah (ﷻ) and His Messenger (ﷺ)".

Maashaa Allaah, very good.

But does that reflect in your actions? If not, then you should evaluate this "love."

It is not a mere statement of the mouth, rather it is a thing of obedience.

Say, [O Muhammad], "If you should love Allaah, then follow me, [so] Allaah will love you and forgive you your sins. And Allaah is Forgiving and Merciful."

(Al Imraan 3:31)

May Allaah (ﷻ) protect us from the tricks of the Shaytaan, have mercy on us, and guide us through the straight path.

آمين يا رب العالمين
